Archers Nip Eagles, Moving Up the Ladder

HAMLER – Antwerp’s baseball team continued its heroic trek through the Northwest Ohio trail as the Archers outlasted Colonel Crawford for a 1-0 advantage.

The Archers got their lone run in the fifth inning.

Jason Geyer walked to start the frame before a Cole Seslar sacrifice bunt moved Geyer to second. After Austin Lichty flied out, Jacob Savina singled to center field to score Geyer for a 1-0 Archer advantage.

Savina led the Archer offense with two singles and the run batted in while Seslar, Lichty, Keaton Altimus and Blake Schuette added singles as well.

Trevin Fairchild, Gavin Feichtner, Carson Feichtner, Dylan Cooke and Brock Ritzhaupt all had singles for Colonel Crawford.

Lichty picked up the win on the mound for Antwerp, tossing the complete-game with five strikeouts while allowing five hits and two walks.

Lichty finished the contest having thrown 93 pitches, including 63 of which were strikes. 

Gavin Feichtner took the loss for Colonel Crawford, pitching six innings and striking out eight while allowing four hits, one earned run and five walks.
