Three Defiance Juveniles Injured In Crash

Defiance – Troopers from the Defiance Post are currently investigating a one vehicle serious injury crash which occurred on Adams Ridge Road south of Allen Road in Adams Township, Defiance County at 1:58 PM today.

Involved in the crash was a 16 year old female from Defiance, whom was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban with two other juvenile female passengers, being 12 and 14 years of age. Currently the investigation is showing that the southbound Suburban drove off the right side of the roadway and the driver over corrected. The vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway again, struck a telephone box, overturned and came to rest in a wheat field.

The driver and one passenger were taken by air ambulances to the St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center in Toledo. The other passenger was taken by ambulance to ProMedica – Defiance Regional Hospital where she was treated and released.

Injuries were minimalized by the use of restraints by all occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Assisting the patrol at the scene were personnel from the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office, Ridgeville Township Fire and Rescue, Napoleon Fire and Rescue and the Defiance County EMA.

As always, the Patrol asks drivers to call # 677 to report impaired drivers or drug activity.
