It’s November 7 and girls basketball has already started in Indiana. It seems a little early considering fall tournaments are still going on, but the girls season has been moved up a week to separate the boys and girls tournaments completely.
The game between the Bulldogs and the Warriors started with Woodlan taking an early lead with the first quarter ending at 12-6. Samantha Houser was hitting them in from the outside and Kenzie Salzbrenner was underneath the basket pushing rebounds back through the hoop.
The second half was a different game with the Bulldogs outscoring the home team 15-9, tying the game for the half at 21.
New Haven’s Anika Hoffer nailed 2 3-point baskets and Hailey Lasch also posted a 3 pointer.
The third quarter was the difference when Woodlan added 20 to New Haven’s 16 and the four point difference stayed through the rest of the match. The game finished 51-55.
Free throws were clearly an important part of this game. Total points scored from the line were 33.
