MARIANNE CottrellMarianne Cottrell, 84 of Antwerp, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Hickory Creek at Hicksville.

Marianne was born in Antwerp on August 17, 1931, the daughter of the late Anna M. (Reising) and Edward C. Marlin.

She was co-salutatorian for the 1949 class of Antwerp High School. Her devotion to God, family, church and community was evident during her many years as church organist at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she began playing for Benediction at age 8. She also played for funerals and provided music for local plays and over 300 area weddings. For many years she worked as a secretary at International Harvester & as a medical transcriptionist for Laverne Miller, MD.

In 1960 she married Norman Goetz who passed away in 1969. Marianne then married Harry Cottrell in 1975.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Harry; daughter, Barbara Goetz of Norfolk, VA stepsons, Maurice (Karen) of Hicksville & Gary Cottrell of Bryan; sister-in-law, Patricia Marlin of Antwerp; granddaughters, Kelsey Sensibaugh & Natalie Cottrell & great grandsons, Braylon & Braxton.

She is also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Marlin.

Her Funeral Mass is at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Antwerp, Saturday, 10 am.

Viewing is at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, Friday, 2-4 & 6-7:30 pm with a Catholic Vigil & Rosary at 7:30 am.

Viewing is also Saturday, 9 – 9:30 am at Dooley Funeral Home.

She will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.
