Woodburn City Council Meeting Minutes 12/29/14

Meeting Minutes from December 29, 2014.
Attendance:
Mayor Hoeppner, Councilman Abbott, Renner, Gerig & Voirol, Treasurer Sarrazine, Chief Duhamell and Superintendent Walls were present
Chief Duhamell:
The Woodburn Police Department completed it’s third year of the Santa Toy Patrol. We were able to provide toys and gifts for 26 children in Woodburn, 8 of which were babies. Holly and Jan assisted in organizing the distribution for the families that we were able to aid this Christmas. The Police Reserves logged 37 hours of service in December, Our officers (2 paid and 8 reserves) completed 350 hours of training in 2014. WJPD is still accepting applications for reserve officers., deadline is January 9th.
Audience:
Resident requested sewer discount for boiler heat leak. Council approved.
Mayor:
Mary Atkins with Wessler Engineering quoted $10,000 for well head protection report that is mandated by IDEM. Mayor will try to negotiate down. The report is due by September. Sutrtz Public Management gave us an updated on the Main St. project. January 15th is pre-bid and January 29th is public bid opening. Resolutions for land in the Industrial Park and on the corner of Bull Rapids Road are being prepared by the attorney and may be presented and next meeting. Frontier has quoted $17,053 to move poles for the Main St. Project.
Treasurer:
Meeting minutes from December 1 were presented. Councilman Gerig made a motion to approved, Councilman Voirol 2nd, all approved, motion carried. Warrants were presented, Councilman Voirol made a motion to approve, Councilman Gerig 2nd all approved, motion carried.
Superintendent Walls:
WW Williams were here to service generators. Battery needed replaced, needs program reinstalled by Buckeye. Ryan to have WW Williams contact Buckeye.
Councilman Abbott:
Would like to see LED lights on Water Tower for Christmas.
Councilman Rice – Absent
Councilman Renner – No Report
Councilman Gerig:
None of the emergency shelters have Generators. Lights for water tower? Ryan reported that when the tower was painted the company tangled some of the lights and he cannot get to them to fix them.
Councilman Voirol – No Report
Councilman Gerig made a motion to adjourn, Councilman Renner 2nd at 8:06 p.m.
