On a beautiful Friday evening, the hometown Archers hosted Green Meadows Conference foe Hicksville on band parent’s night at Archer Field. The Aces prevailed to travel home with a victory 50-20.

It took just over one minute for the visiting Aces to take the Antwerp kick-off and put points on the first year scoreboard. Phil Karacson rambled 48 yards and Aces QB Garett Crawl ran in the two-point conversion to go ahead 8-0 at the 10:49 mark of the opening stanza. The next ten minutes provided a see-saw of action before Antwerp put points on the board with a Justice Clark touch down.  With 45.2 seconds remaining the quarter closed with Hicksville holding a slim 8-6 lead.

The second quarter started with a Hicksville punt, however an Archer fumble gave the Aces the ball back. Over the course of the next eleven minutes Hicksville QB Crall had his hand in adding 20 more points to the Aces side with a 32 yard TD pass to Karacson, a 15 yard rush, a two point conversion pass to Johnny Giesege, and a 10 yard pass to Jacob Greer, giving Hicksville a comfortable 28-6 halftime lead.

The teams seemed to be evenly matched in the third quarter until Crall again found Giesege on a 17 yard completion. The two point attempt failed leaving the score at 34-6 after three quarters. Hicksville added a quick 8 points in the 4th as Karacson put a one yard run into the endzone and Crall added the conversion. Justice Clark then came to life for the Archers with scampers of 60 yards and 37 yards to the endzone. Both drives were capped off with Jarrett Bute extra points making the score 42-20 with 7:10 remaining. The Aces weren’t finished however, as Greer put the final tallies on the board with a seven yard run and a two point conversion to close out the scoring. The Aces move to 5-3 on the season.  Antwerp falls to 1-6.
Antwerp travels to Justin F. Corressel Field Friday to play the Tinora Rams at 7:00 p.m.
