State Patrol Investigating Fatal Crash in Paulding County

CRANE TOWNSHIP – The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Van Wert Post is investigating a vehicle fatal crash that occurred on February 21, 2013 at approximately 5:28 pm on US 24 at County Road 87 in Crane Township, Paulding County.

Tiffin E. Aldrich, age 21 of Cecil Ohio, was driving a 1996 GEO Prism northbound on County Rd. 87. Her passenger was Kayla A Bidlack, age 30, also from Cecil Ohio. Roy Pierre, age 44, of Quebec Canada, was driving a 2010 Peterbilt 387 truck with trailer, hauling approximately 33,000 lbs. of miscellaneous freight, eastbound on

US24. Ms. Aldrich attempted to cross US24 and was struck by the eastbound commercial vehicle. All were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The driver of the GEO Prism, who was also reportedly 6 months pregnant, was flown to Parkview Hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries.

The passenger of the 1996 GEO Prism was pronounced dead at the scene by the Paulding County Coroner.

The Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Paulding County Sheriffs Department, Cecil fire department and Antwerp Fire and E.M.S. departments.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
