Heritage Lions Collect Items For People in Need

“Sock It To Me” – Please bring new socks, gloves, mittens, scarves, knit hats and blankets to be collected and divided among the district governors to be distributed to needy people within their districts”. This was the request made by the Indiana Lions for their Mid-Winter Conference in Indianapolis on January 20th.

The Heritage Lions collected these new items for the project: 181 pairs of socks; 10 pairs of gloves; 19 scarves; 24 knitted hats; 52 blankets, and 6 panties.

Rick Boys of the Heritage Lions and Susan Hoffman of the Monroeville Lions will bring their respective donations to Indianapolis when they attend this Conference. A big “Thank You” goes to Deb Heath of Project Linus, who donated most of the blankets. And a big thanks to Changing Footprints for their large donation of Bombas socks. Many poor and homeless people will be helped by this collection of winter wear.

The Heritage Lions motto is “We Serve” and we welcome anyone who wishes to help their local community to contact a Heritage Lion.
