What an incredible year! We are so thankful to each of our donors, volunteers, and parents for the support you’ve shown us this year. We wanted to share some updates about what God has been doing this year in the LifeWise Antwerp Classroom.
The Impact of LifeWise Antwerp
At the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year LifeWise Antwerp launched as a pilot program in the Antwerp 6th grade, meeting at the Antwerp Global Methodist Church on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. We started the year with 12 students coming to LifeWise one day a week for 45 minutes. As of this month, we have grown to 21 students, which is almost half of the Antwerp 6th Grade!
LifeWise staff and volunteers are grateful or you being a part of what God is doing in the lives of these students! Because of you, we at LifeWise Antwerp are able to share the gospel with these students, some of whom have never heard the gospel before walking through our doors.
The LifeWise Antwerp students have made many thought-provoking comments this year. In reference to Eve one student said, “She was called woman, because she was taken from man, but woven by God, wo-man.” When asked about the Bible a student said, “It is one glorious story of God’s love for us!” As we were reviewing what we have learned, LifeWise Teacher: “Remember this is the land that God promised to Abraham way back in Genesis.” Student: “Oh, that’s why it’s called the Promised Land.” Another student recently told us, “My family is reading the Bible again!”
The Goal of LifeWise Antwerp
As we approach the start of a new year, we need a 15-passenger van. As the program has grown, the 12-passenger van that we are currently borrowing to transport students is full for both classes! To share the gospel with more students we need a bigger van, so more students can attend a LifeWise class. To accomplish the goal of purchasing a van, we need to raise $30,000. We have already raised just over $7,000 toward our goal! Then we need to locate a used 15-passenger van that is reliable enough to transport our LifeWise Students.
Will you make a special year-end gift? Your gift will allow us to share the gospel with more 6th graders this year. It will also move us one step closer to our long-term goal of sharing the gospel with even more students in the Antwerp Local Schools and having a building closer to the school.
