On November 30, 2023 the Fairview FFA Chapter hosted the annual State Leadership Night at the elementary school.

Three Ohio FFA State Officers attended this Leadership Night to teach leadership skills, problem-solving, and teamwork. Many other chapters in the area traveled to Fairview to participate in this Leadership Night. The theme of the night was “On The Road to Leadership.” The first activity that the FFA members participated in was planning a trip.

In small groups, they were asked to devise a destination, a driver, three songs to listen to, and snacks for the trip. After this, the groups had to solve various riddles to put together the night’s quote. The quote was “Look at life through the windshield, not the rearview mirror.”

The following activity was for every group member, except one, to take one of their shoes off, and put it in a pile with all of the other groups’ shoes. The one person who didn’t take a shoe off had to get each of their group members’ shoes back and put them back on their feet.

The last activity was a race between all of the groups. Each group had one steering wheel (a paper plate) and each member had to have one hand on the steering wheel at all times. One of the state officers stood in the middle of the room and each group had to touch all four walls and then return to the officer in the middle.

To end the night everyone made their own driver’s license certifying them to be a leader.
