Seavey Unbeatable At Eldora

USAC race fans witnessed history being made at the Big E during the USAC portion of the 4-Crown Nationals. This year Logan Seavey already won the Chili Bowl, took home a USAC Indiana Midget Week title and even posted two USAC National feature wins in one day At Eldora. Logan Seavey managed to top himself once more last weekend. The young driver had three USAC National feature wins on Saturday night during the 41st running of the 4-Crown Nationals.

In his first event he won the 25-lap USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget main. After a short celebration he climbed into his Sprint car a few minutes later and led that feature wire-to-wire to win the 30-lap USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship. After a second brief victory celebration Seavey strapped into his USAC Silver Crown Car for his 3rd win of the night and dominated the 50-lap event.

With the three wins in one night, he joined an exclusive list of three drivers who’ve been able to accomplish the rare monumental task. Racing legend, Jack Hewitt swept all three USAC wins during the 1998 4-Crown Nationals and added a UMP Modified win.  Kyle Larson in 2011 had three consecutive USAC wins on 4-Crown night. Logan Seavey collected $10,000 for each feature victory, totaling $30,000 in all.  He put together one of the greatest nights of racing in the 68-year history of the USAC.

Rico Abreu Goes Wire-To-Wire

The 410-World of Outlaw winged sprints portion of the 4-Crown Nationals was won by Rico Abreu. This was his 3rd WoO victory of the year at Eldora. The 31-year-old took the lead on the opening lap and led the field all 30 laps. He held off early challenges from Giovanni Scelzi and survived a slide job from David Gravel in the final corner to seal a win in the BeFour the Crowns Showdown as the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars kicked off Four Crown weekend. The victory moved Abreu up to six in the WoO Point Standings. He now has four wins in his last 10 Sprint Car starts at the “The House that Earl Built.”

Henry Gets The Trifecta

Cap Henry completed the trifecta of 410 Sprint racing in Ohio Saturday night. He got his sixth feature win of the year at Fremont Speedway to wrap up his first ever track title to go with a track championship he earned at Attica Raceway Park and the title of the Attica Fremont Championship Series in 2023. Seven-time Fremont Speedway track champion Byron Reed would fight for 2nd, and finish in his final sprint car race as he is retiring after 34 years of racing. TJ Michael, Dan McCarron, and DJ Foos rounded out the top five.

Noonan Win’s Trick or Treat Night

Oakshade Raceway had a Trick or Treat night for the hundreds of young fans in attendance, but the drivers during the UMP Late Model feature found tricks not treats, as the drivers battled in the feature. After the checked flag fell the only driver to get sweet treats was Casey Noonan. For the first half of the 25-lap feature he tried everything to pass leader, Devin Shiels. Slow traffic finally came into play and Shiels went low, and Noonan went to the top and ran the cushion. It turned out that the outside line was the fastest and Noonan took the lead and was able to get the win. In Sportsman action Josh Corkwell drove away from the field to pick up his first Sportsman feature win at Oakshade. Jarret Rendel won the Dominator Stock A-Main. Dylan Burt won the B-Main. Late Model driver Carter Murday had double duty Saturday. He raced Eric Carr’s Sport Compact and won the feature. Joe Carr won the Sport Compact B-main. Until next week keep your wheels down.
