SPYKER AWARDED NATIONAL RURAL & SMALL TOWN AWARD

Antwerp High School senior Leila Spyker has earned academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs. Spyker was awarded the National Rural and Small Town Award in August. This National Recognition Program grants underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connects students with universities across the country. Spyker is eligible for this award because she has a GPA of 4.0, exceled on the PSAT/NMSQT, earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP exams, and attends a school in a rural area or small town. This is the third time in three years a student from Antwerp High School has been selected for this honor. Previous winners include Rayni Rister, a freshman at Ohio University, and Gaige McMichael, a sophomore at The Ohio State University.
