Trio lead Archers past Blackbirds

ANTWERP – Haleigh Jewell, Aewyn McMichael and Caroline Rohrs all scored ten markers to lead the Antwerp Lady Archers to a 36-34 win over Pettisville for a non-league girls basketball victory Saturday afternoon.

Antwerp jumped to a 16-10 lead at the end of eight minutes of action before Pettisville trimmed the deficit to 20-19 at the intermission.

The Blackbirds drew even after three quarters as the Fulton County squad picked up eight points in the stanza compared to seven for Antwerp, evening the contest at 27-27 entering the final period.

Wrapping up the scoring for the blue and white were Emma Townley, Katryna Fish and Lydia Krouse, who all scored a basket each as Antwerp improved to 7-7 overall.

Pettisville was paced by Alli King and Amanda Grimm with a dozen markers apiece while Grace Crawford and Olivia Miller both bucketed four points each. Ellie Grieser also had a bucket for Pettisville, which falls to 9-7 on the season.
