1812 Winter Garrison @ Historic Fort Wayne

Come to The Old Fort on Saturday Only, February 19, 10 am – 5 pm for 1812 Winter Garrison.

A winter posting at a frontier Fort was never an easy task!  Military drills and guard duty were part of the daily duties. Soldiers had to chop wood for the fireplaces to keep warm.  They had to cook their own meals.  Visit with the soldiers and feel what it was like to live in a frontier Fort during the winter.

The Old Fort is located at 1201 Spy Run Ave. Parking is available at Headwaters Park, Lawton Park, and in the lot across from the Fort. Visitors should use the Rivergreenway Trail under the Spy Run bridge to access the Fort.

This is a freewill donation. Visit our website oldfortwayne.org, Facebook.com/HistoricFortWayne, or call (260)437-2836 for schedule updates and information.
