The Paulding Nazarene Church is announcing a big addition to their ministries – Little Sprouts Early Learning Center that is now ready to bring in young people to help parents with their daycare needs in Paulding. The church had a young lady approach them about taking on this ministry a couple of years ago, and since then the leaders agreed that this was a great need for the community. Currently PAULDING county has no options for daycare starting at 6 weeks of age. With the opening of Little Sprouts Early Learning Center that will all change.

The press conference began with Tim Copsey, Paulding County Economic development director, announcing the new ministry by the church to bless the community.

The church’s goal is to exist for non-members according to pastor Jeremy Thompson. Thompson announced the young lady who brought up the need to the pastor as the new Director of Little Sprouts is Amber Gochenour. Amber currently works for the Paulding County Health department and, at the same time, is getting the facility ready for the new daycare option. Amber had been a nurse for nine years and is fully qualified to operate the new facility.

Little Sprouts is planning to open on June 7, 2021 with up to 80-90 children, but is planning on 60. The facility is open to all children from ages 6 weeks to 12 years old, and financial assistance is available for low income families through NOCAC.

Paulding mayor Greg White stated, “I’m excited for the Nazarene church to step up for this community need!”

Amber said the new facility will be open from 6 am to 6pm to be able to help families take care of the children. PEVS is also working with the new learning center to help transport children to the facility after school.

This new location is looking to hire people too! They need 5-7 full and part time employees that are 18+ with a diploma. Little Sprouts is also working with Vantage Career Center for training young people in this profession.

Little Sprouts will be serving breakfast and snacks. Parents can send a pack lunch. A catered lunch is also available through the Paulding Pancake House.

There is one problem – 45 kids are already signed up. If your family is interested in this need then you need to go to the website littlesproutselc.org to register. You can even pay for the service right online. If you have questions go the website or call 419-405-3399.
