President Trump Visits NW Ohio

Air Force One touched down on September 21 at the Toledo Express Airport in Swanton, Ohio, at 7:35 p.m. The crowd was there to listen to President Donald J Trump speak on the tarmac of the airport. The crowd numbered in the 10’s of thousands lined up around the designated area to get into the vicinity of the President. The line began forming at 4p.m. The plane flew from the Dayton area where Trump had spoken just before.

It wasn’t quite the same as Harrison Ford in the movie Air Force One one, but the plane in person was quite magnificent with three floors and 4000 square foot of floore space. The pilot and the camera crews descended from the airliner to setup as President Trump made his way down the stairs.

Security was setup up surrounding the airport. Two people were caught with shovels, pitchfork, and a backpack with a gun and ammunition at the Toledo Executive Airport (relief airport for Toledo Express airport). Security was also tight inside the event with secret service agents, Ohio patrol snipers, and helicopters.

President Trump spoke on his accomplishments and saying he would announce a female Supreme Court nominee by Saturday. His campaign focused upon several issues including peace in the Middle East, COVID 19, reducing government in people’s lives, and keeping Americans free and safe. He stated that approximately 10 miles of wall per week were being built on the southern border to help stop illegal immigration. One of the biggest complaints he had was of the Democrats removing “under God” from the pledge of allegiance during the DNC. He thought it was a mistake until it was aired again that way. He also mentioned how Kamala Harris called Joe Biden numerous names including, “racist”, and then she decides now he is not. Also, how the democrat candidates have endorsed the “domestic terrorists” who have attacked peace officers while denouncing the victims.

President Trump also brought on stage the Ohio high school football players Brady Williams and Jared Bently who had been disciplined by being suspended for carrying the first responder flag at a football game. They honored those who gave their life at 9/11 19 years ago.

The clips from the event on Monday are here to watch.

We at the West Bend News hope that the Biden-Harris campaign will make a stop in our area as well. If the candidates come to northwest Ohio, the West Bend News will be there just as we have in past years with other candidates.
