New Owners at Country Oasis

Kapil and Alyssa Verma, new owners of The Country Oasis on Old 24 just past Woodlan High School.

The Country Oasis near Woodlan High School obtained new owners beginning July 27, 2020. Kapil and Alyssa Verma, who live in Fort Wayne, became the owners last month and look forward to serving the community!

Kapil moved to Fort Wayne from Muncie, Indiana and he opened his first Phillips 66 gas station/convenience store in Markle, IN at exit 286 on I69. He found this to be such a good move that he looked for another investment and found this store in Woodburn, IN. Alyssa also runs the location and her and Kapil met each other at Ball State University where they graduated from. Alyssa earned her degree in marketing and Kapil completed his courses in business.

One Stop Petro II Inc is the official name with a DBA of Country Oasis. The Oasis is well-known in the community since it was built in the 1990’s. Kapil and Alyssa have done quite a bit of remodeling and updating in the 12 employee store. They now have a full-service food department including pizza, subs, sandwiches, chicken tenders, and fried chicken. For the morning people, there is a full line of breakfast foods available. Along with the prepared food there is bread, hot dogs, buns, dairy products and much more. Each day of the week will have a different name and dinner special. Right now, there is Tenderloin Tuesday and Fish Friday! Broaster Chicken is also a favorite that is served daily. If you would like, you can order ahead at 260-493-4943

The Country Oasis is on a little over 2 acres of land with 8 gas pumps, 3 Truck diesel pumps and, 1 rec 90 Boat Fuel pump. This was a big truck stop in the day before the new US 24 came in. Kapil said there are still 50-100 trucks a day that stop in for a break and they like it better than the chain truck stops. They get fuel points, coffee & drink loyalty cards.

When you stop in be sure to say, “Hi!” to Kapil and Alyssa and wish them well in their new venture!
