Kiwanis talks entrepreneurship

Pictured is Jerry Zielke and Lisa Becher.

Kiwanis member Jerry Zielke introduced Lisa Becher a professor at Northwest State Community College, and entrepreneur herself. As a small business owner and someone so passionate in helping young adults become successful entrepreneurs, Becher talked about the importance of supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs in our small town. In fact small businesses create the most jobs in their community!

Becher talked about upcoming summer camps geared towards entrepreneurship for middle school and high school students. Agriculture Summer Camp is held  in July. For more information on this camp contact Michael Leonard at 419-267-1285. There is also another camp that will help kids to make a proper business plan and inspire them to live out their dream as an entrepreneur. For more information on this camp held in July contact Lisa Becher at 419-267-1264 for more information.

“I believe in the youth,” says Becher. If we invest in and encourage entrepreneurs, they will in turn be more likely to start their business in our community and invest their time and efforts into our small town to see their business succeed. Becher suggests listening to young entrepreneurs and help them get started, even if their idea is big, they must start somewhere, and you can help them! Kiwanis members thanks Lisa for her dedication to the youth in our community! Members will meet next Thursday over lunch.
