Archers Roll Past Panthers For Non-league Win

ANTWERP – The Delta Panthers made the trip to northwest Paulding County on Monday night where the host Antwerp Archers picked up a 57-32 victory in non-league, boys basketball action.

The Archers held a slim 12-9 lead at the end of one quarter before expanding the margin to 23-15 at the midway point of the contest.

Antwerp took a 44-24 lead into the fourth quarter.

Ty Rebber paced the blue and white with 15 points while Jayvin Landers added ten markers.

Cole Seslar, Blake Schuette and Austin Lichty all had six markers for Antwerp with Keaton Altimus and Brayton Stuckey posting four markers apiece.

Austin Chirgwin, Jacob Savina and Luke Brewer added a basket each as well for the Archers, who close the regular season with a record of 16-5.

Delta was led by Ashton O’Brien with 14 markers and Hunter Treshnan chipped in six markers.

Braden Risner posted four points for the Panthers followed by Hunter Hamilton (three), Seth Burress (three) and Josh Tresnan (two).

The Archers won the battle of the boards 27-17 and the Archers had fewer turnovers, 11-18.

Antwerp was 23 of 39 from the field for 59 percent compared to Delta’s 11 of 33 for 33 percent.

The Archer junior varsity squad wrapped up its season with a perfect 21-0 record as the Archers defeated the Panthers 44-16.

Tournament play for the Archers begins on Friday, March 1, as Antwerp will play either Edgerton or Hilltop at 8:00 p.m. that evening.
