Lady Archers Pick Up Pair Of Victories

EDGERTON – Antwerp closed out the regular season with a pair of victories as the Archers hit the road to Edgerton and West Unity and brought wins home from each.

On Thursday, the Lady Archers closed out the Green Meadows Conference portion of their schedule with a 41-37 win over Edgerton.

Karsyn Brumett scored 20 points to pace the way for the Lady Archers while Heather Oberlin added eight and Astianna Coppes posted six.

Chelsea Johanns and Alyvia DeVore recorded four and three points, respectively.

The two teams were tied at 5-5 after one quarter before Antwerp jumped out to a 21-14 halftime advantage.

Edgerton trimmed the deficit to 30-29 at the end of three periods but Antwerp outscored the Bulldogs 11-8 in the final period to seal the victory.

Emma Siebenaler bucketed ten markers to top the Lady Bulldogs while Bree Hug added seven and Ally Cape chipped in six.

Rylei Moreno (four), Halle Siebenaler (four), Megan Sullivan (three) and Clair Flegal (three) completed the Bulldog scoring.

Antwerp then wrapped up regular season action by defeating Hilltop 56-49 on Saturday.

Scoring for the Lady Archers were Karsyn Brumett (21 points), Chelsea Johanns (nine), Heather Oberlin (nine), Astianna Coppes (nine), Tiera Gomez (six) and Lydia Brewer (two).

Antwerp finishes the regular season with a record of 7-13 overall and 2-5 in the Green Meadows Conference.

The Lady Archers open tournament play on Saturday when they battle Ottoville at 2:45 p.m. at Defiance High School.
