Lady Warriors split pair of contests

The Woodlan Lady Warriors played a pair of games during Thanksgiving week with the squad recording one victory and one loss in that span.

On Friday, the Lady Warriors dropped a 66-45 decision to Jay County to open ACAC action.

Addison Bayman led Woodlan with 18 points while Gabby Joyce chipped in nine and Ella Smith posted eight.

Abbey Gentz (four), Hanna Albertson (two), Lauren Meyer (two) and Dakotah Krohn (two) also scored for the Lady Warriors.

Bayman posted nine rebounds, three assists and two steals as well for Woodlan with Smith grabbing four rebounds and Taya Kitzmiller hauled down three. Joyce also had two rebounds for the Warriors.

In earlier action, Woodlan went on the road to Churubusco on Tuesday and came home with a 60-28 victory.

Krohn paced the Lady Warriors with 15 points in the contest while Bayman added 11 markers and Joyce put in ten points.

Madi Koos bucketed seven markers for Woodlan and was followed by Kate Mendenhall (four), Smith (three), Kitzmiller (three), Gentz (three), Meyer (three) and Albertson (one). 

Churubusco was led by Kenzi Tonkel with six points while Darian Manth added five. Mariah Hosted, Abi Erwin and Alli Green all chipped in four markers for Lady Eagles.

The Warriors got six rebounds from Smith while Bayman recorded four boards, three assists and six steals. Krohn also finished with four boards, three assists and two steals for Woodlan and Gentz posted four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Myah Bear hauled down seven boards for the Eagles with Hosted recording six and Audrey Ziegler picked up five.
