A unique banquet is set to take place on October 11, 2018 at Grant’s Reception Hall in Antwerp. Hands of Hope Pregnancy Services is hosting their Fall Banquet featuring guest speaker, Gianna Jessen. This speaker is unique because she is an abortion survivor.
Jessen’s mother went to an abortion clinic to have her pregnancy terminated many years ago. During the late ‘70s, late term abortions more commonly called saline abortions were performed in women’s clinics around the world. This abortion attempt on Gianna’s life left her with cerebral palsy and in the foster care system. Gianna does not consider this affliction to be a burden, but a gift as it allows her to depend on Jesus. She has had speaking engagements about her experience all over the world and the United States. She has met George W. Bush, Tony Blair, and has been praised by Mother Teresa. A movie was produced in 2012 based on her life called October Baby.
