Early Lead For Heritage Seals Fate For Woodlan Warriors Varsity

Woodlan Warriors Varsity fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-3 loss to Heritage on Tuesday. Heritage took the lead on an error in the second inning.

The Woodlan Warriors Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Heritage, giving up nine runs.

Heritage got things started in the second inning. An error scored one run for Heritage.

Heritage scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Heritage came thanks to a triple by Bobby Lomow and a single by Joel Deakins.

Evan Whitman led things off on the hill for Heritage. He allowed four hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out two.

Connor Waterman led things off on the hill for Woodlan Warriors Varsity. He surrendered nine runs on ten hits over six innings, striking out three. Aaron Hahn and Cameron Sprunger entered the game as relief, throwing two-thirds of an inning and one-third of an inning respectively.

Connor Knoblauch went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Woodlan Warriors Varsity in hits.

Heritage totaled 11 hits in the game. Lomow, Chase Luginbill, Nick Bosler, and Jarrett Kiess all collected multiple hits for Heritage. Lomow led Heritage with three hits in four at bats. Heritage tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Lomow led the way with three.
