Warriors Split With Eagles

WOODBURN – Woodlan and Churubusco hooked up in a softball doubleheader on Saturday with the Warriors and Eagles each claiming one victory.

In the opener, the Eagles scored six times in the fourth in rallying from an early deficit for an 11-7 victory.

Woodlan led 6-2 at the end of two innings before Churubusco answered. The Eagles picked up one run in the third before exploding for six in the fourth. Churubusco also scored twice more in the fifth to go on to the victory.

Emma Baughman, Alyson Wiesehan and Ronnie Hathaway all had two hits for Woodlan. Madi Koos, Samantha Koos, Hallie Mason and Kayla Reidenbach also had hits for the Warriors.

Reidenbach and Hathaway each scored twice for Woodlan with Mason driving in two runs.

The Warriors scored three times in the first to take control of game two before adding one more in the second and two in the third. Woodlan wrapped up the scoring with three runs in the fifth before plating a single run in the sixth.

Alyson Wiesehan had three singles and a double to lead the Warrior offense, scoring three times and driving in two more. Ronnie Hathaway added two singles and a double while posting three runs batted in. Kayla Reidenbach posted two singles with Clare Yagodinski, Hannah Albertson, Hallie Mason and Olivia Wilson all recorded a single each.

Emma Baughman got the win for Woodlan, limiting Churubusco to six hits and a walk while striking out seven in six innings of work.
