On March 8, the Panthers travelled down to Lima to take on Ottawa Glandorf in the District Semi-Final match. Paulding was out matched from the very beginning, only posting 10 points in the first quarter. That doesn’t sound too bad until you see the Titans plastered 31 points on their side of the scoreboard. Jay Kaufman was on top the game with 9 point by himself in that time period.

Paulding’s Carson Shull and Ethan Rhonehouse both sunk a 3-point basket in the the first period. It was helpful, but the speed at which the Ottawa school handled the game was just too much to stop.

Paulding increased a little over the first and before the half with Jaret Miller sneaking in a pair of 3-point baskets and a 2-point field goal.

Coach Brian Miller knew this would be a hard game going into this battle. This was the fourth game in a row where the Titans scored over 80 points.

It was early in the second half of the game when it switched over to a running clock due to the 35 point difference in scores. That didn’t stop the Panthers from trying hard though. In the fourth quarter, Jarred Miller added another 5 points and Marcus Miller also popped in a 3-pointer. Fletcher Cook was fouled and he was able to add 2 points to the score from the line.

These boys were still happy that they made it so far in the tournament when most teams had already been eliminated.

The game finished 82-38.

Paulding finished their season 13-12.
