Harlan Lions Club awards the Ron Phillips Memorial Scholarship

The Ron Phillips Memorial Scholarship was created to memorialize an exemplary member of the Harlan Lions Club. Ron Phillips was a Lion for over fifty years.

The Lions motto is “We Serve” and Ron truly did that and more.

The scholarship was set up to recognize a Woodlan Senior who is active in the service/Leo Club. In Ron’s honor, this year $500 Is awarded to Montana Prell to put towards her college education. Montana has contributed way over 34 hours this year participating, and often running, blood drives, the Woodburn Halloween Party, fundraisers for our Christmas families, bell ringing for the Salvation Army and the talent show.

Montana has a heart to serve, and no doubt would make both Mr. & Mrs. Phillips, very, proud. Montana hopes to pursue culinary arts at the Chef’s Academy in Chicago.
