Leo headed for the Bulldog field in New Haven on Friday, September 9th. The game was one of the possible selections for WANE TV’s game of the week with both teams entering the evening with a 3-0 record.

Prior to the game the two players from DeKalb were remembered and honored after it had been a week since the tragic and fatal accident.

The game was an incredible win for the home team when play after play, momentum was with the Bulldogs. It started with the Lions winning the tossup and on the first possession, after several plays, passed the ball with Bulldogs’ Ivan Upshaw grabbing the first of many interceptions and turnovers

In the first period alone, New Haven scored two touchdowns, the first by Keshawn Moore with 10:27 on the clock and the second by Austin Moore, and none for the Lions.

Quarter 2 was just about the same with two more touchdowns for New Haven and this time Leo added a 3 point field goal for half time score of 27-3.

Leo, thinking they may be able to turn things around for the next half, started off the same way as the prior two quarters. It wasn’t until the fourth period when they finally scored their first touchdown. The game finished in a stunning victory for the Bulldogs with a 48-9 victory.
