Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) attended the 9/11 First Responders Last Call Memorial Dedication this morning at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania. A beam that was removed from the wreckage of the World Trade Center was unveiled and will become a permanent part of the park in remembrance of the first responders that gave their lives on September 11, 2001.

“There are no words to describe the courage and bravery that the first responders exhibited on that fateful day,” said Latta. “Countless men and women rushed into burning, smoke-filled buildings without hesitation, knowing full well the grave dangers. As the years go by, the pain of September 11 does not subside for the loved ones of those lost or for us as a nation. That’s why dedications like the one today are so important. We owe it to those that perished to keep the memory of their heroic actions alive. The beam that will stand in Toledo Memorial Park will be a physical reminder of their sacrifice for generations to come.”
