Festival of Trees Announced!

Festival of TreesThe John Paulding Historical Society will be holding their annual Festival of Trees from November 13 through November 16 at the museum located across from the fairgrounds in Paulding. This year’s theme is “A Caroling We Will Go”. The schedule of events is loaded with fun and entertainment starting Thursday, November 13 open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. Lunch will be served from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and Supper will be from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. The menu will be Chili, Hot Dogs, pie, and a drink. Paint a Picture with Katie Diaz will start at 1:00 pm, the cost is $25 and you will leave with a finished painting. Entertainment for the evening will be the Oakwood Community Band starting at 6:30 pm.

Friday, November 14, open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. Lunch at 11:00 – 1:00 with a menu of Chicken or Sloppy Joe Sandwiches, Salad, Brownie, Chips and a drink; Baked Potato Bar and Dessert Bar starts at 4:30 pm. Entertainment at 2:00 pm will be singer Olga Kipp and at 6:30 pm you can enjoy the Bluegrass music of Brian Holbrook and company.

Saturday, November 15, Santa arrives at 9:00 am. Pictures with Santa from 9 – 11, donations will be accepted. Brunch will be served from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm with a menu of breakfast casseroles, rolls, biscuits and gravy and a drink. Spaghetti Supper will be served from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm. At 1:00 pm TNT the Clown will be doing balloon animals and Sassy the Clown will be doing face painting. From 1:00 to 3:00 there will be Kids Crafts with Kathy Denny. Entertainment will be Nancy Whitaker starting at 4:00 pm.

Sunday, November 16, open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Brunch served from 11:00 – 1:00 with a menu of pancakes, sausage links, rolls, fruit, and drink. Entertainment will be Kelsey Clemens at 1:00 pm and Olga Kipp at 2:00 pm.

Throughout the event we will be having area pianists playing our newly refurbished Square Grand Piano. This piano is from the 1850s and does not sound like the pianos of today. Square Grand Pianos are rare and having one refinished and tuned is even more rare.

Silent auction all weekend closes at 4:00 pm on Sunday.

Ohio State Raffle all weekend closes at 4:00 pm Sunday.

Voting for your favorite tree closes at 4:00 pm Sunday.

Admission is FREE. All meals are by donation. All monies will support the museum. Please help the John Paulding Historical Society in their mission of Preserving the Past for Future Generations.
