On Tuesday, February 25 Hamilton took on Woodlan at the Strautman gymnasium. The home team looked good with their 2013-14 season winding down.

The Hamilton Marines boys basketball team did not play bad at all against the Warriors. The record for Hamilton is not very good at 5-12 before the game, while the record for Woodlan was 13-6.

The first quarter started with Woodlan getting the most points and the second period had the Marines having the increase. The half finished close with 31-29 with Woodlan in the lead.

Coach Randall was glad to see his boys get back in the game in the third quarter, expecting much more out of them. Evan Gustin and Kadin Gerig both put in 3 point baskets while Greg White added at the line. Gustin twisted his ankle while diving to save a ball. He was able to walk it off and looked pretty good afterward. The quarter finished with Woodlan having a gain of 9 points more than Hamilton.

The fourth quarter once again had both teams looking nearly equal, but with the points gained from the third quarter, the game was clearly in the hands of Woodlan.

One thing Woodlan boys need to watch as Sectionals begin is not to play at the level of the opponents, but at their potential.
