It was a slow first half for the Aces (home) and the Archers competing against each other at the first round of sectional play on Tuesday, February 18 at the Paulding Gymnasium. Neither team could really say they had a great first half as the score was only 7-10 with Hicksville in the lead.

The Antwerp Ladies basketball started the second half on fire and came back in the third quarter, not only tying the game but taking the lead in the first four minutes. The Aces recovered by the end of the third quarter and regained their small lead.

The game was an interesting one for the Archers as they had the most points in three out of the four quarters. The Lady Archers had the win within grasp as the clock wound down to the last second when suddenly Hicksville freshman Chelsey Taylor hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to give the Aces the win. What a close game for two local competitors.

Score by Quarter:

Antwerp: 0 7 12 8 = 27
