Village of Sherwood Receives $35,000 Grant for Moats Park Improvements
The Defiance Area Foundation has awarded a $35,000 grant to the Village of Sherwood during its 2026 Spring Grant Cycle. Funding for the project was provided through the Hanna Family Memorial Fund under the Defiance Area Foundation umbrella.
The grant will support Project Home Plate at Moats Park, a community-led initiative focused on revitalizing Sherwood’s primary youth sports complex and securing land for future park expansion. Planned improvements include upgrades to concession stands, restrooms, playground equipment, and other park amenities.
The project is designed to enhance recreational opportunities for local youth and families while ensuring that Moats Park continues to serve as a valuable community gathering space for years to come.
