NOCAC’s Financial Opportunity Center’s Work Featured By Statewide Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies

Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission (NOCAC) is featured in the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies’ (OACAA) 2025 Annual Report which was released the week of July 20, 2026. Specifically, the feature highlights Trevor’s journey from homelessness to securing not just a place to live, but also a job, and more secure

financial future. The story is a great example of how NOCAC’s Financial Opportunity Center’s coaching and financial literacy programming along with a coordinated effort among other NOCAC services strengthens people and the communities they live in.

Angie Franklin, Executive Director of NOCAC stated, “It is an honor to be one of the featured agencies.” Sydney Schliesser, the NOCAC employee that is involved in the work OACAA highlighted shared, “Every success story like Trevor’s is a reminder that financial coaching is about far more than budgets, it’s about helping people rebuild confidence, create opportunities, and believe in a better future. By walking alongside clients as they overcome barriers to employment, housing, and financial stability, I get to help turn moments of crisis into lasting independence.

Ohio’s Community Action Agencies serve in all 88 counties across the State of Ohio. NOCAC serves within northwest Ohio in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Van Wert, and Williams counties.
