Live Oak Cemetery Walk to Bring Paulding History to Life

Presented by Community Revitalizing Paulding (CoRP), the cemetery walk will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Live Oak Cemetery on Emerald Road in Paulding on Saturday, October 3rd. The final tour will depart at noon.

Visitors will walk among the headstones at Live Oak Cemetery, where costumed interpreters will portray people whose lives helped shape the Paulding community and share their stories at their final resting places.

Among the individuals highlighted during the walk:

 a local businessman whose grand hotel became a landmark in downtown Paulding;

a prominent judge whose influence reached beyond the courtroom;

a serviceman who died in action during World War I and was returned home for burial;

and a local milliner who traveled to Chicago and New York and brought big-city styles back to Paulding.

Tickets will be available at the cemetery, with children ages 12 and younger admitted free. Refreshments will also be available.

The event will be held rain or shine, and proceeds will benefit Paulding CoRP.
