Janis I. White

DUNDEE, MI:

Janis I. White, age 97, of Dundee, MI, formerly of Paulding, OH and Bradenton, Florida, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Flower Hospital, Sylvania, OH.

Janis was born in Payne, OH on October 20, 1928, to her late parents, Clyde and Edna (Martin) Amspaugh.

She graduated from Elyria High School and the Cleveland Academy of Cosmetology in 1947. She later began a 30-year career with Avon as a representative rising to district-regional manager. She received many Circle of Excellence Awards for outstanding leadership and earnings. In earlier years, she was an active member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Paulding, OH where she oversaw the church nursery for 20 years. Janis was a busy mother raising four children and was a Music Mother for the Paulding High School marching band. She enjoyed playing Bridge, baking award-winning pies, supporting the Bradenton Seeing Eye Dog program, caring for elderly family and entertaining and fishing at Marble Lake.

Janis will be lovingly missed by her children: Greg (Nancy) White, Paulding, OH; Mike (Fran) White, Dundee, MI; Denny (Brenda) White, Dundee, MI; Jane (James) Kagy, Cincinnati, OH; sisters: Emma Knowlton, Elyria, OH; Helen Stephanick, Grafton, OH; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great child on the way.

She is also preceded in death by brothers: John Amspaugh and James Amspaugh; sisters: Beatrice Plas and Patricia Jackson.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will take place in Live Oak Cemetery, Paulding, OH.
