Be Transformed…

Be transformed by the renewing of your mind comes from Romans 12:2 in the New Testament, where the Apostle Paul urges believers not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed through a change in their thinking.

From a Christian standpoint, this concept emphasizes the importance of spiritual renewal and growth in a believer’s life. Here are some things to consider:

1. Spiritual Transformation: The transformation of the mind is a fundamental aspect of the Christian faith. It suggests that when an individual embraces Christ, a radical change occurs, affecting their thoughts, values, and behavior. This transformation is facilitated by the Holy Spirit, guiding believers toward a deeper understanding of God’s will.

2. Renewing the Mind involves studying scripture, praying, and cultivating a relationship with God. It prompts Christians to contemplate God’s truth and let it influence their outlooks, instead of being swayed by worldly opinions. From my personal experience, this journey isn’t for the faint-hearted or those seeking quick results; it demands patience and time. Without these, you risk joining those who dismiss Christianity and mock the church and believers—the same group that Peter sat with around the fire the night he disowned Jesus.

3. Discernment: A renewed mind enables Christians to discern God’s will—what is good, pleasing, and perfect. This discernment helps them make choices that align with their faith and purpose, contributing to a fulfilling spiritual life.

4. Impact on Behavior: As the mind is renewed, it naturally leads to a transformation in behavior. Christians are called to live out their faith through love, service, and kindness, demonstrating the change that has taken place within them. You know the old saying” Free your mind and your butt will follow.” Smile.

5. Ongoing Process: It’s important to recognize that the renewing of the mind is not a one-time event but a continuous journey. I encourage you to regularly engage in service to God’s people.  This will keep you aligned with Christ.

In summary, being transformed by the renewing of the mind is about embracing a new identity in Christ and allowing that identity to change how one thinks, acts, and relates to the world. It is an invitation to grow deeper in faith and to reflect God’s love and truth in everyday life.

Enjoy the journey.
