A Community Comes Together in Cecil

On Saturday, August 21, more than 20 volunteers of all ages and backgrounds, many of whom had never met one another, came together in Cecil to take an important step toward improving the village’s park and creating a welcoming place for the community.

The project was spearheaded by an ad hoc committee made up of representatives from the Village of Cecil, Crane Township, and Friends of the Paulding County Park Board. The committee has developed a vision for the future of Cecil Village Park, with the goal of making improvements that will provide a place for residents and visitors to gather, enjoy the outdoors and build community.

The day’s project demonstrated what can happen when people come together with a common purpose. More than concrete was poured that day. Connections were made, a vision began to take shape, and residents showed that they are willing to invest their time and talents in the future of their community.

The concrete pad is just one step in the ongoing effort to improve Cecil Village Park. With the continued support and involvement of community members, the committee hopes to build on Saturday’s success and make that vision a reality.

When people are willing to come together and work toward a common goal, great things can be accomplished.
