CIC Strategic Planning Meeting

Members of the Antwerp/Payne/Paulding County Community Improvement Corporation held a team building event including a strategic planning session in Antwerp on March 5th.  

Estee Miller with the Maumee Valley Planning Organization, and current CIC board member, led the meeting of nine members of the CIC board.

Discussion centered around the creation of a Mission and Vision statement and a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis.   Goals were identified for the current year and for the next 3-5 years. 

Priorities were divided into three categories: Development, Quality of Life, and Organizational.  The group then identified points in each category.   

Development:

• Empty store fronts

• Assets and transportation—rail and highway

• Affordable housing

• Working with stakeholders to identify properties

Quality of Life:

• Fresher food options

• Assets-River

• Tourism- Ag flows

Organizational:

• Establish active committees

• External communication

• County profile

Mission Statement- To improve our communities through promoting a positive business culture. Assisting with commercial, industrial, civic and residential development and advancing the quality of life for residents and visitors to Paulding County.

Vision Statement- A clean, safe, prosperous community where people want to live, work and play. 

The group meets bi-monthly and will continue to discuss and act on projects that have the potential to move Paulding County forward.
