Annual Payne Elementary Book Exchange

Payne Elementary celebrated Dr. Seuss week with various activities including a book exchange.  Students brought in their used books in exchange for a different one. Pictured with their new books are Emersyn Showalter, Clara Sinn and Andrew Stoller.

Payne Elementary held their annual Book Exchange on March 7, 2024.  Title 1 teacher, Mrs. April Krouse, holds this event each year to promote literacy and encourage students to share their love of reading, especially during Read Across America week.  Students are encouraged to bring in up to 2 gently used books for the exchange and then choose different books to take home.

This year approximately 350 books made their way into new homes!!  Every student in the school went home with at least one exchanged book.  Students enjoyed choosing books not only from their favorite authors, but as well as from a wide variety of topics and genres.   Mrs. Krouse appreciates all the help that went into this exchange and looks forward to next year’s event!
