Oakwood EMS Gives Tour of New vehicle

Pictured here are Dianne Cooper, Mayor Brian Ripke, Council President and EMT Kelly Tumblin, and EMS Coordinator Gary Lewis.

Oakwood EMS invited Dianne Cooper and Mayor Brian Ripke out to see their return on investment. The Oakwood EMS team gave Dianne and Mayor Ripke a tour of the new Braun Chief XL that will be serving the village and surrounding townships for many years to come.

Oakwood EMS Grant writer, Marie Gribble submitted a grant request to the Annual Cooper Family foundation’s grant program. With the foundation’s generous donation and funds already available from The Village of Oakwood, Brown TWP, and Washington TWP, Oakwood was able to purchase the new squad with no added cost to the taxpayers.

This allows Oakwood to retire their 2001 E350 which will be donated to the Oakwood Fire Dept to be used as an equipment truck.

Oakwood EMS is a volunteer Dept who is always looking for new members of our community to join the team. If you’re interested contact OEMS on Facebook or Coordinator Gary Lewis @ 419-786-9339.
