On Wednesday, October 25th, the Paulding FFA Chapter had 25 members travel around Paulding County to feed the farmers in the fields.

The chapter first started doing this service project four years ago and it’s one of their favorite projects to do each year. The chapter found that it was a great way to support local farmers and thank them for their countless hours of work to feed our world!

Pictured left to right are Paulding FFA members Jacob Harris, R.J. Wirts, farmers Eric and Dawn Cook, Johnny Lipps and Jose Gonzales standing in the field as they delivered snack packs and thanked them!

The students prepared snack packs in various bags we had donated to give to the farmers while they were working in the field or just needed a snack in the combine. These bags contain items such as homemade chocolate chip cookies, granola bars, snack cakes, trail mix, gatorade, and a bottle of water. We also included a water bottle coolie, N95 masks, and hand wipes all in a reusable bag. The chapter would like to say a special thanks to Paulding Soil and Water, Beck’s, Ag Credit, Paulding Hospital, Williamson Insurance, and Joanne Klopfenstein for their contributions to making this yearly community service project happen.

A handwritten, sincere thank you note was also included in each bag as well as a Thank you farmer coloring sheet done by the elementary students. The FFA members delivered 175 snack packs to farmers in Paulding County. It was a very rewarding experience for our members as they got to interact with the farmers directly and learn about what they do every day!  Feeding our farmers is one of the many ways we try to thank our farmers and show our support for them!

The Paulding FFA is very excited to continue this project in the future.  We are striving to continue to increase the number of snack packs each year and thank more of our hard-working farmers!
