Paragon Tempered Glass Antwerp facility break ground on $10M expansion

Paragon Tempered Glass broke ground on an expanded facility Tuesday, May 23, 2023. The Ohio facility, based in Antwerp, will add 50K square feet to its existing building to house a new automated production line. With the investment of $10M, the expansion will house the company’s first new tempering line in more than 30 years.

A specialty fabricator, Paragon offers custom glass solutions that includes both flat and bent tempered glass. In addition to the Ohio facility, a second location operates out of Niles, Michigan. The company was formed in 2013 when Spec-Temp, LLC in Ohio, and Tem-Pace, LLC in Michigan, merged.

Managing the expansion project is CME Construction, a firm in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The project allows CME Construction to showcase its ability to serve companies looking to build new structures as well as expand current footprints.

“We are excited to partner with Paragon on this expansion,” said CME Construction President Ryan Hellinger. “It’s rewarding to put our efforts behind a company that has such a solid presence in the Antwerp community.”

The project allows Paragon to add at least 12 new jobs and will allow the fabricator to remain competitive in the marketplace. Company officials said the new facility will increase their capability to expand the company’s reach into new markets they currently do not compete in.

“Paragon is excited to launch this project and take our company to the next level. This expansion will allow us both the capabilities and capacity to grow for years to come,” said President Dan Wright.
