Paulding High School Class of 2023 Announces Top Scholars!

Haley Manz has been named as valedictorian of the 2023 graduating class of Paulding High School. Her parents are Scott and Sara Manz. She earned a GPA of 4.2 during her high school career.

After high school she plans to attend Defiance College to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Fine Arts.

Manz’s extracurriculars include choir, soccer, track, and Apostolic Christian Youth Group. She earned the following awards and recognitions in high school: McMaster Symposium and Academic Colloquium Award; and Defiance College Dean’s Scholarship 

Outside of school Haley enjoys painting, drawing, traveling, and reading. When asked about her most memorable high school experience, she stated, “Participating in track and hanging out with my teammates.”

Hayden Mullen has been named as salutatorian of the 2023 graduating class of Paulding High School. His parents are Chad and Heather Mullen . He earned a GPA of 4.190 during his high school career.

After high school Mullen plans to attend The Ohio State University majoring in neuroscience. “I plan to do this because I intend to someday help improve the lives of others and better their states of mind as a neurologist.”

Hayden’s extracurricular activities include 2019-2020: Paulding Football Team Manager; filming all season games, carrying equipment on and off buses, totaled 60+ hours between 2 years. 2019-2022: Nature Center Community Service: Collected trash

Awards and recognitions that Mullen earned include: Salutatorian, honor roll 2019-2023, Franklin B. Walter Scholarship, Paulding Putnam Electric Company Scholarship, OSU land grant scholarship, and honors diploma.

Outside of school Mullen enjoys exercising/lifting and playing video games.

Reflecting about the past, Hayden had this to say about his most memorable  high school experience, “When COVID-19 first came around, me and my friends were put in quarantine and were able to play video games together more often than before.”
