ANTWERP POLICE REPORTS

On April 11,  The police department assisted job and family services with a complaint received for a residence on S. Main. 

On April 13,  A resident of High St. was given notice for junk vehicle. The next day the vehicle had been moved.

On April 13,  Antwerp Police Department was contacted by Bryan Police Department in reference to a stolen vehicle located in Bryan that was stolen from Antwerp.  The owner was contacted to retrieve his vehicle.

On April 13, A local business reported someone was putting trash in dumpster. They didn’t wish to press charges at this time, but wanted the person contacted and told not to do it

On April 14, A vehicle was stopped for speeding on River St. The driver was cited for speed and driving under suspension. 

On April 16, An officer located an open door at a downtown business.

On April 17, A resident of E. Daggett reported that they believed 2 of their vehicles had been entered during the night. Some items from the vehicles were taken. 

On April 17, Police department was contacted in reference to a vehicle unlock.

On April 17, A resident called and stated that she and her husband were splitting up and when she went to the bank he had taken out a lot of money from the account. It was explained to her that it was a civil matter.

On April 18, A resident of Woodland Dr. reported there was a person going door to door selling. The man was located and it was explained to him that he must have a permit to sell door to door in the village.

On April 18, A resident of North Garden Apartments reported she believed someone stole her phone out of her apartment. She indicated the doors are always locked and didn’t’ know how they would have got in.

On April 19, Police department was contacted by the school resource officer in reference to a student who maybe attempting to run away from school.

On April 19, A motor vehicle accident occurred in the village’s Riverside Park. A car struck a tree and the driver was cited for failure to control and OVI. Charges are pending in Paulding County Municipal Court. 

On April 19, An officer observed a Facebook post made by a resident stating that there was a sick raccoon in her yard and she had been waiting over 5 hours for someone to come. The officer contacted to see if it was still there and who she contacted. She stated that the raccoon was no longer in her yard and she couldn’t remember who she called.

On April 19, A vehicle was parked on River St. Officer found the vehicle parked on street and tried to locate the owner. Eventually, after the owner was located he was cited for parking in the roadway.

On April 20, Police department was contacted in reference to a resident who walked away from assisted living facility.

On April 20, The police department was contacted in reference to a 911 hangup near the football field. The officer was unable to locate anything improper.

On April 20, A resident turned over a phone they had found at the intersection of E. River and Harmman Rd. The phone found was an iPhone with a white case.

On April 21, A resident of North Garden Apartments contacted the police department in reference to an investigation involving his pickup truck. He believed someone had loosened his lug nuts.

On April 21, A resident of North Garden Apartment reported that someone had messed with his truck the night before.

On April 22, A resident of Payne, Ohio called in reference to her getting kicked out of her home. She was referred to the Paulding Sheriff’s office.

On April 22, A resident reported that there were kids riding 4 wheelers on the roadway. 2 individuals on 4 wheelers were located at a residence. They admitted to being on the roadway and the officer explained riding 4 wheelers in the road wasn’t allowed.

On April 22, A resident of the village contacted the police department in reference to their landlord giving him 7 days to be moved out of the apartment.  The officer explained it was a civil matter and to contact an attorney.

On April 23, Police department was contacted in reference to a warrant for an individual living in the village. The officer located the individual and arrested him.

On April 24, a resident called in reference to a scam. Chase Bank contacted him in reference to a credit card application. He had not applied for any card.

On April 24, a resident reported that a homeless person has been storing items at his place. The caller stated he had given the individual until May 1 to remove the items and he just wanted the police department to be aware of it.
