WCCH Ribbon Cutting is April 29th!

The Woodburn Christian Children’s Home Strong and Courageous strategic expansion is about to become a reality! Ribbon cutting for the new 13,000 SF Multipurpose Learning and Counseling center is scheduled for Saturday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m. Together, let’s celebrate this vital community and Kingdom advancement along with the 50th anniversary of WCCH.

This event will encourage your faith as we celebrate God and this strategic Kingdom advancement. We will gather to pray, provide tours, and meet the WCCH families (children) – a special love offering will be collected.

Plans are being made to host several special guests including adult children of WCCH, local political leaders, media outlets and previous directors, Lee and Vivian Bracey and Lee and Kay Strang.

The following is a testimony from one of the WCCH children. Written by Zaysha (15), reminds us why we do what we do:

“When I came to WCCH, I had several things that I needed to work on such as manners, anger issues, and self-control. I would usually get mad all the time and talk back to my house parents, and I would burp terribly at the table. When I first came to WCCH, I would talk about how I am only staying for one year! I thought, at first, that it was not for me with all the rules and things that I had to do. Recently, I have been changing; a year has gone by and I can tell that I am not the same anymore. When I look in the mirror, I see myself as more mature. I have learned through Christ that my parents are in control and I should honor them in the decisions they make, and I have decided I am fine with it! I have gone back and forth between what I want to be when I’m older; like a librarian, or a singer or even an actress but I can’t really decide! All I know is that God has great plans for me and He’s not done yet. Now that I’ve been here for a year and school is coming to an end, I would love to stay another year at WCCH. They have taught me a lot on being a Christian and caring about my education. Thank you, WCCH!”
