JPHS Museum Reviving Arts & Artists Exhibit

Painting Fern White: Paulding County has been home to many excellent artists, such as the late Ferneau White, who painted this still life. John Paulding Historical Society will be issuing a call for artwork by county artists for an exhibit later this spring.

The John Paulding Historical Society is bringing back its popular Celebrating the Arts and Artists of Paulding County.

This year’s event will feature paintings – oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, ink or other. Tentative plans call for the exhibit to open during May, and continue through June. The historical society will allow artists to sell their works to the public.

Current and former Paulding County artists, age 16 or older, will be invited to bring in their pieces to the museum later this spring. This invitation also is extended to anyone who owns paintings by county artists, living or deceased.

The exhibit will feature art works from the museum’s collection of past artists as well as those who have submitted their paintings to be displayed during this show. The county has been home to many incredibly talented individuals, and this event will be an opportunity to celebrate those artists and their creations.

Church painting Thrasher: The John Paulding Historical Society in Paulding will be issuing a call for artwork for Celebrating the Arts and Artists of Paulding County exhibit this spring. This painting, by the late Chester Thrasher of Oakwood, is in the historical society’s collection.
