From Oakwood Gleaner Arbor

This is a summary of the activities of the Oakwood Arbor.

For the months of Aug. – Oct. Gleaners put money back into the community from the home office in Adrian, MI. They gave to the following: Oakwood Homecoming Committee, Lifewise Academy, Grover Hill Lion’s Club, John Paulding Historical (in memory of Max Kochensparger), ALHS Walk with the Senior Center, Hands of Hope Pregnancy Center, postage for the Oakwood Homecoming letter, Oakwood Library (maintenance cost is $65 a day), Oakwood Fire and EMS.

Oakwood Gleaners do 4 roadside pick ups each year. They help the boy scouts with the 3 miles of the Buckeye trail off Road 187. Gleaners put their arbor tree at the Historical Festival of Trees. They also helped put out American Flags and Wreaths Across America.

Oakwood Gleaners planned a Health Fair at the Oakwood school gym on Thursday, November 10, 6:30 – 8 p.m. There were over 8 businesses present to share with attendees. There were also door prizes.

Our meetings are on the 4th Monday at 7 p.m. at the Twin Oaks Fellowship Hall in Oakwood. Public invited.
