WT GIRLS FIRST, ANTWERP BOYS IN XC COUNTY MEET

GROVER HILL – The three Paulding County schools meet at Welcome Park in Grover Hill for the annual county cross country meet. In the girl’s meet the Wayne Trace edged past Antwerp while on the boys side it was the Archers slipping past the Raiders.  The girl’s team scores: Wayne Trace 21, Antwerp 34, Paulding (not a full team).

Kiara Bahena ran past her competition to take first place with a time of 21:00 followed by team mate Abby Moore who was clocked at 21:18 to lead the Raiders. Third place was Leigha Doster from Antwerp with a time of 21:21. A battle for fourth came down to Aerial Snyder, also from Antwerp finishing at 22:45.06 and slipping past Aubree Miller at 22:45.70.

Completing the top 10: 6. Abby Elkins, Antwerp 23:33; 7. Anna Meraz Wayne Trace 23:56; 8. Lyla Clem, Antwerp 24:35; 9. Emma Saul, Antwerp 24:36; and 10. Isabella Graham Antwerp 24:38.

Antwerp took first in the boy’s run with 34 points followed by Antwerp with 37 and Paulding 49.

Individually, Antwerp’s Kameron Johnson led the pack with a winning time of 18:06 followed by Antwerp runner Avin Ziljstra at 18:14. Wayne Trace runner Gage Ogle took third place at 18:51 followed by Alex Ziljstra (Antwerp) with a time of 19:22. Taking fifth with a time of 19:43 was Prestyn Schnepp with a time of 19:43 followed by Paulding’s Cully Thompson  (20:21) and Jack Schweller, also a Panther taking seventh with a time of 20:23. Rounding out the top ten: 8. Aiden Lee, Wayne Trace 20:48; 9. Seth Rosswurm, Wayne Trace 20:55; 10. Eli Jones, Paulding 21:48.
