WBESC Franklin B. Walter Scholarship Recipients

The Western Buckeye ESC hosted the Franklin B. Walter Scholarship Program last night at Vantage Career Center.  The results are as follows:

Paulding County:

Gaige McMichael, Antwerp HS, County Winner; Paige Jones, Paulding HS; Malia Wittwer, Wayne Trace HS

Van Wert County:

Ellie Vining, County Winner, Crestview HS; Carson Fox, Lincolnview HS; Kayla Krites, Van Wert HS

Gaige McMichael and Ellie Vining were the county winners. They both received $500 scholarships from the Western Buckeye ESC. The rest of the students received $100 scholarships for being selected as their district representative.

The Western Buckeye ESC Winner is Gaige McMichael from Antwerp. Gaige will be recognized at an Awards Luncheon in Columbus in May hosted by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association (OESCA). He will receive a $250 scholarship from OESCA.

The Western Buckeye ESC would like to recognize the following businesses and individuals for contributing to this awards program: Avangrid Renewables, EDP Renewables, the United Way of Van Wert County, JW Taylor Construction LLC, Jan Kohart and an anonymous local foundation.

In the application for the Franklin B. Walter Scholarship, each of the students were asked to name the educator that had the biggest impact on their educational career.  In the picture below are the individual district winners and their influential educators.
