STEPHEN DERCK

ANTWERP, OH:

Stephen Derck, 79, of Antwerp, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022, at his home.  

Steve was born in Hicksville, Ohio on April 24, 1942, a son of the late Helen (Perl) & Joseph Derck.

Steve grew up on his family’s farm and enjoyed hunting and fishing. As a young man, he was involved in 4-H club and a Car Club. Steve worked as a truck driver for 12 years, worked at Craig Transportation for 12 years, worked at H.G. Snook for 20 years, and also owned the Antwerp Shell Station for 6 years. He was an active member in his community as a CCD teacher, church council, the Antwerp School Board, and the Antwerp Town Council. Most of all, Steve was a valued friend and a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Nancy, to whom he was married November 28, 1964; children, Anita (Robert) Bok & Beth Derck; sister, Beth Hammond; grandchildren, Steven, Ryan, Whitney, & Lindsey Bok, & Chris Derck; & great-grandson, Kainen.

Steve was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Lou Kemerer, Gerald Derck, & Kathleen Franklin; & grandson Christopher Bok.

Viewing is Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 5 to 7 PM with a 7 PM vigil service at Dooley Funeral Home, 202 W River St., Antwerp, Ohio 45813.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 25, 2022, at 10 AM at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 303 Monroe St, Antwerp, OH 45813.

He will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.
